Secure eMail settings that WORK!

 

Using our secure settings ensures your mail connection is encrypted between your PC and our server. To setup a secure connection, you’ll need to use the secure settings which are below.

Here are all the settings that should most certainly work. First lets look at your incoming mail settings, POP3 or IMAP.

 

POP3

Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourwebsite.co.za
This server uses an encrypted connection (SSL). (This is usually a check box)
Under Incoming Server (POP3), the port number should be set to 993
Incoming mail authentication method: Normal Password (If the option exists)

 

IMAP

Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourwebsite.co.za
This server uses an encrypted connection (SSL). (This is usually a check box)
Under Incoming Server (IMAP), the port number should be set to 993
Incoming mail authentication method: Normal Password (If the option exists)

 

SMTP

Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourwebsite.co.za
Use the following type of encryption: SSL (this is usually a drop down box)
Under Outgoing Server (SMTP), the port number should be set to 465
Tick the box labeled My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Then choose to Use same settings as my incoming mail server
Outgoing mail authentication method: Normal Password (If the option exists)

It is vitally important that you make sure you use all of these secure settings and not leave any of the details out. If you change the mail server the this deltahorn.realwebspace.net and neglect to change the ports, you may not be able to connect and could be temporarily blocked. Don’t worry though, if this happens simply drop us a mail or give us a call and we’ll assist you in getting your emails.

 

iOS6 – Apple devices

Although you use the same settings as above, here is exactly how they need to be used: I have setup a OS6 device and am sending mail correctly using the following
settings:

Outgoing Mail Server:
Host Name: mail.yourwebsite.co.za
User Name: email@address.co.za (Your email address goes here)
Password: *** (Your password goes here)
Use SSL: ON
Authentication: Password
Server Port: 465
